Don’t get me wrong that isn’t a bad thing because I did enjoy NASCAR Heat 2 it’s just I wanted a little bit more from this game and instead what I got is a Career Mode that still needs work and the collision damage still feels very unrealistic. These improvements are mostly found in the more realistic AI and the better feeling physics, but despite these improvements I still couldn’t shake of the feeling that it still felt a lot like last year’s game. After playing it for a while I did realise that there are some improvements over last year’s game. Does NASCAR Heat 3 do enough to get a recommendation from me? NASCAR Heat 2 was a big improvement over the original game and I was looking forward to where the game would go next, so I did have quite a bit of interest in NASCAR Heat 3. The collision damage is very unrealistic and does ruin the immersion levels a little bit. I was a little disappointed with the Career Mode because it didn’t have the amount of depth I expected it would have. There’s still not much in terms of the customisation you can do in the base game.
The load times are much shorter this time around and technically the game holds up well for the most part with fewer problems included. There’s more depth this time around and the newly added content not only gives the game more replaybilty but it will also bring new fans to the table. The driving physics feel much better than they did in NASCAR Heat 2 and this without a doubt made racing and turning more satisfying. There isn’t a massive improvement when it comes to the presentation side of the game it still does a little bit more than the previous game in both the visuals and sound design. I found the AI to be vastly improved this time around and without a doubt the more realistic approach they’ve implemented in the AI makes I found the AI to be vastly improved this time around and without a doubt the more realistic approach they’ve implemented in the AI makes racing that little bit more fun.
